The National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin

The National Gallery of Ireland was opened to the public in 1864. It was founded as a free national collection which is accessible to all. Over 150 years later this is still the focus of the Gallery. Our mission is to care for, interpret, develop and showcase art in a way that makes the National Gallery of Ireland a beautiful place to encounter art.  We provide an outstanding experience that inspires an interest in and an appreciation of art for all.  We are dedicated to bringing people and their art together.

This year the OUTing the Past Dublin Festival is in partnership with the National Museum of Ireland and Kilmainham Gaol. It will run across three days, 20th-22nd March, and three sites; Kilmainham Gaol, National gallery of Ireland and Collins Barracks. The Gallery’s day on the 21st of March will include a fascinating mix of talks in our Lecture Theatre, alongside breakout sessions focused on discussion and engagement and fun workshops in the Gallery rooms.

The full programme of talks, tours, activities and music will be announced soon – watch this space!
