OTP 2021 Hub - Leeds Museums and Galleries
OUTing the Past 2021 will be the third time we have hosted OTP in Leeds. Despite Covid and the rigours of lockdown, we are determined to make this another engaging and memorable event. Indeed, we are looking forward to an even wider audience than usual.
Leeds Museums and Galleries is again leading a cross-community partnership to develop and deliver OUTing the Past. We operate nine sites across our city, ranging from medieval abbeys to historic houses, community museums and one of the best British Art collections outside London at Leeds Art Gallery.
Our current intention is to bring you an event which combines a safe and socially distanced physical event at Leeds Art Gallery with a live web event for those who cannot join us in person. Leeds Art Gallery is an amazing and very central venue in Leeds. You can find out more about how to get there and any access requirements here.
Over the last two years, we have been lucky enough to host some wonderful talks from amazing speakers, covering everything from Anne Lister and the founding of Stonewall to non-binary history and queer representation in video games. This year, we hope to provide a diverse and inclusive programme of talks. We will also be providing more support for local communities whose voices don’t get heard as often or as loudly.
Over the coming months, we will be working enthusiastically to ensure that OTP 2021 in Leeds will be exciting, memorable and a great foundation for future work celebrating LGBT+ history.
